This looks a bit inaccurate with the whole 'cats are worshipped, dogs are crap' deal, but not bad for creativity! I like it, sounds fun! Joinningg...
Name: Anubis
Animal(cat or dog): canine >:]
Breed: Pharaoh Hound
Looks: Anubis is a lithe, powerfully built dog. He is rather large, towering over any puny Jackal-sized desert dogs roaming Egypt, his head reaching about waist level on a human. He has large, erect ears that add to his inquisitive and alert expression. His fur is short, and doesn't shed much. It's color is a rich chestnut brown, his eyes the same gorgeous caramel color. The tip of his tail is white, and he has a small white star on the back of his neck as well; both markings are considered rare and desirable in his breed. Overall, this dog is a handsome specimen of this breed that is thought to be the same from whence the Egyptian God, Anubis, was birthed (hence his name).
Personality: Anubis is much like a god in the way that he acts. He looks down his snout at other creatures, oftentimes not pitying them either for being 'lesser beings'. While he is loyal to his palace brothers, he can be a bit stubborn sometimes too. He has rather haughty thoughts oftentimes, but he is kind and generous on the outside, like a god would be expected to be. He isn't sure if he really is the god that the humans make him out to be, but he certainly hopes he is, and tries hard to be. Although his pride would never admit it, he loves to explore the temple of Bastet, the cat god. He feels at home among the other worshipped creatures of Bubastis, and likes to socialize with them.
History: Anubis was born in the company of humans, exchanged by Phoenician traders for a few large rolls of papyrus, which the mystified Egyptians eagerly paid. Since his early puppyhood, he was treated as most cats normally would be: fed well, groomed often, and paid lots of attention every day. His name, Anubis, was bestowed upon him by the Pharaoh's son, who timidly set a golden plate around his neck that stated this fact. He grew up in extreme comfort, and often is seen strutting around the decks of the boats that travel up and down the nile, regally watching the mutts on the banks that gawk at him. The other dogs of Egypt notice that he is revered by the humans that so despise them, and so they too treat Anubis as a king in their world.
Every time a member of the family died and had to be mummified, Anubis was set on a throne to watch the proceedings, as he was believed to have some connection to the real god of the dead: Anubis. The canine patiently watched until he was taken back to his normal seat at the feet of the Pharaoh's son, to watch the children of the royal grounds play together. He was almost considered a gaurdian, relied upon make sure everyone was kept safe..and especially kept living.
As a pup, it came naturally to him to guard the palace; another reason for which he was so highly regarded by his owners, even in younger days. There were a few occasions when saucy young men climbed the beige palace walls and tried to make off with goods that could be traded for a great wealth. He growled threateningly and advanced on these occasional intruders, nipping heels when necessary. For this, the Pharaoh granted him extra attention, and some delicious delecacies that tasted oddly of the nile, though he couldn't distinguish what they may be. Anubis has always lived the good life, but sometimes wonders what the wild dogs and jackals of the desert have to go through to get by.

Name: Lycra
Animal: Cat (but on dogs side)
Breed: Egyptian Mau
Looks: Lycra has a silver pelt with black spots. Her left forepaw is black, and she carries a small birthmark in the shape of a crooked star on her forehead. Her body in delicate and fragile, and she is so skinny you can see her ribs
Personality: Lycra is an incredibly strong and brave cat, whom never gives in. She loves to get dirty and hates being pampered. From day one she loved to live on the wild side, and still does, although she sometimes wishes for better food. Lycra is incredibly lucky and intelligent, and it doesn't pay to get into a fight with this she-cat.
History: Lycra was born into the world by herself. Her siblings were killed moments after they were born, and her mother died giving birth. As for her father, nobody knows. After a day she was starving. A Pharaoh's daughter took her in, and cared for her until she was strong. Then Lycra left. She watched the dogs of the city begging and fighting, and soon asked to join. The dogs soon let her in when she discribed her hate of all cats. That's how she got a gang
As she was raised by dogs even when invited to join the cats she declined. Her family is more important then hanging out with the same species when it comes to this. So she lives with the dogs, as is often treated as leader. To the people, her looks are just to disguise her evilness, but to the dogs her looks are to disguise and angel.

I did this on a old petz site and it turned out very well. The ancient Egyptians treated cats like gods, and the (supposed) hatred between felines and canines is the plot point in this rp

Sorry for the double post, but lets go! ************* Ruka lied on the roof of a house opposite the temple, purring as the sun warmed her creamy fur. Her large blue eyes picked out two dogs walking by on the street below. With a swift flick of her tail she sent a rock skidding off the edge of the roof but with a quick moment of compassion she swept it back. Her eyes saddened. Dogs weren't all that bad, it was just, she couldn't see how possibly such dirty creatures (in her opinion) could get along with such noble felines as herself. She let her tail rest on he belly, where kits squirmed and wriggled. She felt herself glow with mothers pride. The priest had bred her to a fine tom who lived in the temple a few villages over. He was chocolate brown with amber eyes and cream paws, muzzle and tailtip. Almost a inverse of her own colours, Ruksul speculated. The shining symbol the the Ankh that hung around her neck flashed in the sunshine. It meant life, and Ruka felt proud to wear it as new life grew in her belly.
As her nose detected mouse, she scanned the area till her eyes fell on a old tomb just on the edge of town. Carefully, she got down from the roof, tail wrapped protectivley around her belly. She began to make her way over, quivering in anticipation of fresh mouse. She had mice all the time, but nothing beat it fresh and juicy, unlike the dry meat she got.

Anubis walked the streets with a calm sense of pride in his step, carrying himself regally, if not snootily. His long tail hung in a flat u shape behind him, bouncing slightly as he stepped. Looking around, he observed his surroundings in a dignified manner. Street jackals laid around everywhere, giving him interested and sometimes even admiring looks. It must have been the golden rings that hung around his neck, resembling the silver bengals that indians often wore. Except every mutt and rag-tag feline in the area knew that he was no indian by the golden Ankh that was threaded through one of the loops. His fine, pointed ears jutted up and swiveled around to his right as he heard a slight noise in the roof to his right.
He gracefully slowed to a halt, turning his head up to observe a creamy she-cat, walking with the same gait he held himself. She eased herself down from the roof, and his nostrils flared as he recognized the scent of fresh mouse meat. It was coming from the direction of Bastet's temple. His fur spiked a bit in pleasure as he thought of that great place. Cats loved to hang around in there, and he was guilty of doing so too sometimes. He just didn't fit in with the other lower dogs in the village, and the cats were so much like him, that he couldn't help but converse and become friends with them. He followed the creamy cat towards the temple, where he often recieved a treat or two himself.

Ruka became aware of Anubis following her but just smiled. He was one of the dogs she could stand - He was actually considerate of his own personal hygiene. He did not commist abuse on her nose when he was nearby and was a Pharaoh Hound, a most noble breed of the lesser species. She would go as far as to say she quite liked him.
Continuing toward the temple, she paused every so often to lick her belly and to adjust to position of the Ankh around her neck. She ducked in and out of shadows to shade herself from the hot Egyptian sun - now coming close to the most unbereably hot part of the day. After what seemed a age, Ruksul managed to reach the first marble step of the Temple and began to climb the steep staircase, the cool marble a welcome relief to her paws. On the second to last step, a mangy jackal came running out of the temple, the angry curses of the priest echoing from inside. In a heartbeat, he rammed straight into Ruka, who tumbled down the steps.
"My kittens!"

Anubis had been right behind Ruka, so she crashed up against him in a domino effect. Luckily, Anubis was much bigger than her and she fell against him, but did not budge him. It was good that he had been right there, or she would have fallen all the way down the flight, instead of merely a few steps. He made sure she was in no danger of falling any further before bounding after the jackal that was fleeing down the stairs. His bounding steps took him down four blocks at a time, speedily catching up to the disgusting canine that only took two at a time.
"Filthy halfbreed!" He snarled, lips pulling back to bare sharp teeth as he leaped at the intruder that had reached the bottom of the stairs, and that was only a few feet ahead of him now. Dogs, with the acception of palace dogs, were not allowed in the temple at all. Anubis, being a natural-born guard dog, felt this dog needed punishment if he couldn't explain himself, and do it quickly. With huge paws and wiry limbs firmly on the mutt's shoulders, he slammed him to the ground with such force that the thump turned heads.
"What were you doing in there?" He demanded, fury in his eyes as he beheld his tiny relative between his forelegs, "That is sacred ground! And not only have you placed your pathetic paws within a forbidden sanctum, but you nearly killed a pregnant palace cat! You're lucky I haven't condemned you and ripped your throat out already." The bewildered dog stared up at him, not replying fast enough for his liking. "SPEAK!" Anubis barked fiercely, like a god commanding his subject.

Ruksul had shakily risen to her paws. She quickly licked her belly. The kits squirmed comfortingly, Ruka letting out a sigh of relief. ******* The jackal tried to scrabble to his paws, but Anubis was far stronger and he could do nothing. "Fff..ood?" He said. The jackal obviously wasn't bright. Ruksul sighed. This was the third canine thief in the temple this month. He must have been after Bastet's offering. Ruka felt her hackles rise. She turned to Anubis. "Thank you. If you hadn't of stopped me, I might have lost the kittens. I normally can clear the stairs real easy, but of course, the added weight is making the climb harder than usual. Again, Thank you."
(Sorry for the shortness.)

Anubis pelt a slight flash of pity for the mutt. It wasn't really his fault if he was hungry. He loosed his grip a bit, enough for the jackal to scramble to his paws. But his expression neither revealed, nor even hinted at the mercy he felt like showing. He looked still as wrathful as ever. "You're lucky I'm letting you go this time." He growled, snapping his teeth threateningly, "But if you ever try and steal from the temple again, you'll feel more than just my paws on your shoulders." His narrowed eyes watched the jackal, waiting to see what he would do.
Without removing his hostile gaze from the dog, he said to Ruka, "Of course. We were lucky that I was so close. It was the doing of the gods; Anubis must favor you." Of course, Anubis was speaking of the actual god now, and not himself. Things could sometimes get confusing because of his name. Anubis had a feeling that he had been fated to catch this thief in the act, to make sure he did no such thing as this ever again.
